Description for Internship:
BITS Pilani, Goa is offering an Internship position for BSc/MSc Botany candidates who can assist them with fieldwork in the Western Ghats forests in Goa. The work involves assisting in conducting vegetation sampling within an established vegetation plot for taxonomic identification, structural data collection and phenological monitoring followed by data entry of sampled vegetation into spreadsheets.
Duration of Internship:
Initially they are looking for an intern for the period of 6 months (December 01, 2022 to May 31, 2023), however, the position may be extended upon satisfactory performance.
Eligibility Criteria:
- BSc/MSc in Botany or in a relevant discipline (such as forestry/ecology).
- Good field plant-identification skills.
- Must know the basics of Plant sample collection for herbarium preparation.
- Some experience conducting fieldwork and vegetation sampling.
- Willingness to work in rough conditions.
- Must be able to handle a camera for vegetation photography.
- Must be willing to travel with a team or individually.
Perks offered:
- INR 20,000/- per month and certificate will be awarded to the intern on successful completion of the internship.
